The Center of the Bible

The Center of the Bible

The entire Bible was written over a 4000 year span by over 40 different authors, and it contains 1189 chapters.

This means that in no way could the authors have worked together relationally to construct the Bible, as it was pieced together book by book over the course of history.

With 1189 chapters combined, one may wonder what is the longest chapter in the Bible, and what is the shortest chapter, and where are they?

The longest chapter in the entire Bible is Psalm 119, and it has 176 verses.

The shortest chapter in the Bible is Psalm 117, and it has only 2 verses.

Now here is the kicker...

Out of 1189 chapters in the entire Bible, one may ask, "Where is the center of the Bible? What is the center chapter?"

Use a calculator if you have to see it to believe it...

According to chapters, Psalm 118 is the center chapter of the whole Bible.

Psalm 118 [the center of the Bible] is sandwiched between the shortest and longest chapters of the Bible [Palm 119 and Psalm 117]

...and Psalm 118:8 is the Bible's center verse, and it reads,

"It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man."
