“Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?” 2 Cor 6:14.

Christian Goths are completely set apart from the secular gothic culture. We are a new breed of being. We are the new creations in Christ Jesus. Light and dark are the same to us just as they are the same to God (Psalm 139:11-12). We are salt and light to a world rotting in darkness; and this is not because we are anything of ourselves. It is because Jesus truly lives in our spirits giving Light and Hope.  There is to be a clear distinction. God has shown me now that we are in HIM we have no right to continue being gothic if we are showing no Christian faith in our lives as intercessors for the gothic subculture. Christ must emanate from us as an intercessor because that is who Christ is, an intercessor for others. And I must ask, how can you claim to be a Christian Goth if you do not pray for the entire gothic society? If we are Christian, which means we are “like Christ” we WILL pray for the gothic community.

One Sunday while praying I received revelation. I was dressed in gothic attire from head to toe at my local church, none else in the church dresses gothic at all. We were having a prayer meeting, and all were walking around praying. Some were kneeling some were standing shouting, and some were walking around but all were praying. I was over in a corner kneeling down by a chair. Praying with a heavy burden for the gothic subculture, for those who were bound up in sins and the deception of evil that is in the culture. Suddenly I felt the Spirit of God depart from me, leaving me struggling in prayer in the flesh, and as I begged the Lord to return and to comfort me, then suddenly I felt the stares of the rest of the people in that place, as they started praying for me to be delivered from darkness.

I became so self aware of the gothic clothes that I was wearing among them and I felt judged more than ever. One brother began to pray for me that I would be delivered from darkness and that I would come out from among them and be separate from darkness. When he did this the Holy Spirit gave me a vision so clear I will never be the same again. God was using me to intercede for millions of lost souls in the gothic community at that moment. There was no difference between me and Jesus on the cross two thousand years ago when He hung in the place of sinners and looked just like a sinner. He was judged as a sinner, and nobody understood that he was standing in the sinners place. Me in that room praying fervently, dressed as “one of the world” was truly a representative before God of the entire gothic community as I begged for His mercy and forgiveness, not for how I was dressed, but for witch craft, for drug abuse, for lying, for sexual perversions, for homosexuality, for temptations of every sort under the sun. These were not my sins, but I prayed as one with them when I prayed for Goths to be set free and brought to Jesus. And I was being used as a conduit as well as a point of reference for the church group as well, as they began to pray for me to be set free THEIR PRAYERS WENT TO GOD FOR THE ENTIRE GOTHIC SUBCULTURE WORLD WIDE!

They probably thought that I was the worst sinner in the church because of the way I was dressed. God showed me this was a good thing! This is exactly how intercession works. Their hearts were in their prayers as they looked upon me with pity. I lifted my hands rings and chains dangling, and I worshipped Jesus as the Spirit of the Lord returned to me with fullness and I wept. I had been a partaker of a great revelation of intercession on behalf of a sinful world. And a great understanding of why the Lord’s Spirit had lifted from me during prayer had come. God had used my spirit to intercede for spiritually dead people. I prayed in their behalf, and struggled in the spirit on their behalf. Just as Jesus on the cross became sin and made intercession, I stood in the gap in prayer for the gothic community pleading His blood on their behalf.

Here is the plea of the Spirit of God to Christian Goths: DO NOT THINK YOU MUST CHANGE YOUR CLOTHES, BUT YOUR HEARTS. DON'T LET YOUR CLOTHES WRECK YOU INSIDE. IF YOU DRESS GOTH TO CHURCH, PRAY FOR THE GOTHIC SOCIETIES AROUND THE WORLD! There is no purpose in dressing different than “normal” society unless we make it count for God's will;  that we LIVE HOLY and RIGHT and in the eye's of the world, SIN FREE, and in the eye’s of our lovely God.

If we do these things and pray for the world, God will see our dress as really making a difference for gothic people everywhere, and turn His attention and His mercy to them. Your church may begin to pray for you to be delivered from evil influences because all they see is your clothes. But as YOU pray for the gothic community, even your churches prayers for you will communicate to God for the world’s gothic society. You will become the point of contact for the faith of many in your church. As they pray for you, they will be praying for the world. This is only if you are truly praying for the gothic culture to find Jesus. Gothic intercession.
